PROPERTY REGISTRATION APPLICATION GUIDELINES

1. Where an Applicant has never held a Right of Occupancy for a property, the Applicant shall use the Regular New Application process to obtain a new grant of Right of Occupancy. Application forms are free and may be obtained from:

The application form must be completed in full and submitted to the EDOGIS Customer Service Centre.

1.1. An Individual Applicant shall use Form SRI

1.2. Married Couples shall use Form SRC

1.3. A company or organization shall use Form SRO

2. The application form should be submitted together with the following documents:

2.1. Proof of ownership documentation such as a Deed of Assignment, Deed of Transfer, Deed of Gift, Oba’s approval, Sales agreement, etc. Where the original owner is deceased a Letter of Administration or Letter of Inheritance is required.

2.2. A document delineating the land parcel such as a Survey plan, Site Plan, Title Deed Plan, etc.

2.3. A Site Inspection Report is required.

2.4. Recent passport sized photograph for individual applications (SRI) & (SRC); company seal or stamp on application form for organizations (SRO).

3. Applicants must present valid photo-identification documents. Accepted IDs include: International Passport, National ID Card, Driver’s License, Voter Registration Card.

4. Note that the Applicant may appoint someone to represent them to EDOGIS. This appointment must be in writing. Appointment Statement forms are available from EDOGIS if needed. Note, that the authorized representative will need to have a valid ID as described above

5. For Companies or Organizations:

5.1. Bring a Certificate of Incorporation, a recent company tax clearance and a personal tax clearance for one company director.

5.2. The company’s Chief Officer, or Managing Director, or Chairman must present a photo-identification document; accepted IDs include: International Passport; National ID Card; Driver’s License; Voter Registration Card; Tax Identification Card; and a valid Tax Clearance Certificate. If a representative is appointed, then they shall be required to provide ID

6. For Institutions such as schools, hospitals, churches and mosques:

6.1. Bring a Certificate of Incorporation from the Corporate Affairs Commission and a Letter of Registration or Approval from any appropriate governing body.

7. For Communal Lands:

7.1. The Odionwere or village head or community head should present a Letter of Authority from the gazetted Traditional Ruler of the community in addition to other documents.
